Beyond the Eastern Sea lies the Great Abyss, home to the Kingdom of Shao Hao. Shao Hao once exiled the Emperor Zhuanxu here, where he abandoned his zither and lute. There is a Sweet Mountain, from which Sweet Water flows, creating the Sweet Abyss.
In the southeastern corner of the Great Wilderness, there is a place called the Hill of Pi Mu.
Beyond the Eastern Sea, in the midst of the Great Wilderness, is a mountain called Dayan, where the sun and moon rise. There is also Mount Bogu, home to the Kingdom of Giants.
There is a Giant Market called the Hall of Giants, where a great giant sits, with his ears extended.
There is a Kingdom of Small People called Jingren.
There is a god with a human face and a beast's body, called the Corpse of Linggui.
There is Mount Yue, from which Yang Water flows.
The Kingdom of Wei is found here, where the people eat millet and command four birds: a tiger, a leopard, a bear, and a boar.
In the Great Wilderness, there is a mountain called He Xu, where the sun and moon rise.
There is the Kingdom of Zhongrong. Emperor Jun fathered Zhongrong, and the people of Zhongrong eat animals and the fruits of trees, and command four birds: a leopard, a tiger, a bear, and a boar.
There is Mount Dongkou, and nearby is the Kingdom of Gentlemen, where the people wear robes, crowns, and carry swords.
There is the Kingdom of Siyo. Emperor Jun fathered Yanlong, who fathered Siyo. Siyo fathered Situ, who neither married a wife nor took a husband. The people eat millet and animals, and they command four birds.
There is Mount Da’a.
In the Great Wilderness, there is a mountain called Mingxing, where the sun and moon rise.
There is the Kingdom of White People. Emperor Jun fathered the Emperor Hong, who fathered the White People. The White People have no surnames, they eat millet, and command four birds: a leopard, a tiger, a bear, and a boar.
There is the Kingdom of Qingqiu, home to foxes with nine tails.
There is the Kingdom of Roupu, which is part of the land of Yingtu.
There is the Kingdom of Black-Teeth People. Emperor Jun fathered the Black-Teeth People, who bear the surname Jiang, eat millet, and command four birds.
There is the Kingdom of Xiazhou, and the Kingdom of Gaiyu.
There is a divine being with eight heads, a human face, a tiger's body, and ten tails, named Tianwu.
In the Great Wilderness, there is a mountain called Juling, at the extreme east, where the sun and moon rise. The mountain is called Zhedan. In the east, the wind is called Junfeng, and at the eastern extreme, it comes and goes with the wind.
In the Eastern Sea, on an island, there is a god with a human face and a bird's body, wearing two yellow snakes as earrings and stepping on two yellow snakes. This god is named Yu Zhihu. The Yellow Emperor fathered Yu Zhihu, who fathered Yu Jing. Yu Jing resides by the North Sea, and Yu Zhihu resides by the Eastern Sea as the Sea God.
There is Mount Zhaoyao, from which the Rong River flows. There is a kingdom called Xuangu, where the people eat millet and command four birds.
There is the Kingdom of Kunmin, where the people bear the surname Gou and eat. There is a man named Wang Hai, who holds two birds in his hands and is eating their heads. Wang Hai entrusted his cattle to the River God’s servant in Youyi, who secretly established a kingdom among the animals, where he began to eat them. This kingdom is called Yaomin. Emperor Shun fathered Xi, who fathered Yaomin.
Within the internal seas, there are two individuals named Nu Chou. Nu Chou owns a giant crab.
In the Great Wilderness, there is a mountain called Nieyao Gun Di. At its summit stands the Fumu tree, spanning three hundred li, with leaves like mustard. There is a valley called Wen Yuan Valley. Atop the Hot Springs Valley stands the Fumu tree. Some say this is the place of sunrise and sunset, where the suns are carried by crows.
There is a god with a human face, dog ears, and a beast's body, wearing two green snakes as earrings, named Shebi Shi.
There are five-colored birds, constantly flying and shedding sand. They serve Emperor Jun, who rules from two altars, overseeing the five-colored birds.
In the Great Wilderness, there is a mountain called Yitian Su, where the sun and moon are born.
There is the Kingdom of Xunmin. There is Mount Qi, and also Mount Yao. There is Mount Li Ceng, and there is the Gate Mountain, Sheng Mountain, and Dai Mountain. There are five-colored birds.
In the eastern wilderness, there is a mountain called He Ming Junji, where the sun and moon rise. There is the Kingdom of Zhongrong.
In the northeastern sea, there are three blue horses, three dappled horses, and Sweet Flowers. There is also discarded jade, three blue birds, three dappled horses, flesh-eating creatures, Sweet Flowers, and sweet pears. All kinds of grains grow here.
There is a country called the Kingdom of the Maiden and Moon Mother. A person named Niao Wan resides there. In the north, they are also called Niao Wan. The wind that comes from this region is called Yan. It originates from the easternmost corner, where the sun and moon are halted to prevent their constant rising and setting, thereby regulating the length of day and night.
In the northeastern corner of the Great Wilderness, there is a mountain named Xiongli Tujiao. The Yinglong dragon resides at the southernmost point here. After killing Chiyou and Kuafu, the dragon was unable to ascend again, which resulted in frequent droughts. When a drought occurs, if people make an image of the Yinglong, it brings heavy rain.
In the Eastern Sea, there is a mountain called Liubo, located seven thousand li into the sea. Upon it is a beast that resembles an ox with a blue body, no horns, and only one foot. Whenever it enters or exits the water, wind and rain always follow. Its radiance is like that of the sun and moon, and its sound resembles thunder. This beast is called Kui. The Yellow Emperor obtained its hide and made a drum from it, using the bones of the thunder beast for drumsticks. The sound of this drum could be heard five hundred li away, and it was used to command the world with awe.
