I’m Just a Background Character Who’ll Be Saved in 10 Years, But I Don’t Want to Suffer for a Decade, So I’m Escaping Right Now — The Butterfly Effect — Extra 2: Theobald’s Possessiveness

“No one is allowed to call adorable Lilygen ‘adorable’ from now on. The only person who can call her adorable is me,” declared Theobald, the commander of the frontier marquis’ army, as he surveyed the knights gathered for their morning training.

“Well? Do I hear a response?” The icy edge to Theobald’s voice sent chills down the knights’ spines.

“Yes, Commander!” they all shouted in unison.

Lilygen’s popularity was through the roof.

She could heal the most severe injuries and illnesses that even other healers had given up on, leaving no lasting effects. And, on top of that, she was as beautiful as a fairy.

“Lady Lilygen is so cute, isn’t she?”

“Well, she’s the saint of the frontier after all.”

“Her kindness is angelic.”

“She’s beyond adorable!”

It was overhearing conversations like this that led Theobald to take preemptive action, fearing their admiration for Lilygen might develop into something more. At least, that was the official reason. Everyone knew it was really Theobald’s possessiveness, but no one dared to object.

After all, Theobald’s magic was powerful enough to split the earth and tear the sky.

Unaware of these events that had taken place shortly after our engagement, I continued to be called “adorable Lilygen” by Theobald as if I were his most precious treasure. I sat on his lap, being fed spoonfuls of food, spoiled until I melted into a state of bliss.

[The End]
