The Supreme Goddess Bai Shuo — Chapter 47. Part 2

Other than the three of them, no one else had seen that creature. The disciples of the celestial sects would never believe her. With malevolent entities appearing in the Evil City, Bei Chen and Nan Wan had sensed the disturbance and come to investigate, but the Tomb of the Strange Ones had remained completely silent. This Evil City must be hiding something strange.

She was just a minor half-immortal and couldn’t get involved in this murky water. As long as A-Zhao was safe, she only needed to endure for a couple of days, then return to Nanhai City with Hua Da Tie and Fan Yue as soon as possible.

“Did you see wrong?” Bei Chen’s brows furrowed. Moments before, he had clearly felt the fluctuations of two forces, but now, aside from Bai Shuo and Hua Da Tie, there was nothing at all.

“It’s so late at night. Why are you here instead of resting at the inn, Daoist?” He turned to Nan Wan, hinting, “It seems Yun Xiao has gained some insight regarding the spiritual artifacts.”

Nan Wan’s face changed, inwardly cursing Bai Shuo for raising Bei Chen’s suspicions. He was about to suggest taking Bai Shuo back.

But Bai Shuo suddenly pulled Hua Da Tie close, awkwardly twirling her mustache, which quivered as she spoke, “Lord Bei Chen, you misunderstand. I just thought the moonlight was beautiful, so I took Little Sister for a walk.”

Caught sneaking out and intercepted by Nan Wan, if Bei Chen also took notice, with Nan Wan’s temperament, she would surely be in trouble later.

Hua Da Tie then coyly smiled and batted her lashes, “Yes, Celestial Bei Chen, I was accompanying Bai to enjoy the moonlight. Would you like to join us…?”

As she spoke, Hua Da Tie moved toward Bei Chen, batting her heavily powdered face, which shed makeup powder as she went. Bei Chen’s expression froze, and he stepped back several times.

“No need. Since there’s nothing, I’ll leave you to it.” With that, Bei Chen left without another word, vanishing in a flash of light.

After Bei Chen left, only the Yun Xiao disciples remained on the street. Nan Wan looked at Bai Shuo, “The moon is still beautiful. Do you want to continue enjoying it, Daoist?”

Bai Shuo quickly waved her hands, stifling a yawn, “It’s too late, far too late. We’ll admire it another time. Your Majesty, let’s return and rest.”

“Daoist, since you’re not from the celestial sect, you may not know. Only those who can bind a top-grade spiritual artifact can use it. If anyone else tries, it’s just a pile of scrap metal.”

Nan Wan said this casually, but Bai Shuo seemed to take it in with enlightenment, “I understand. Thank you for teaching me.”

“Good that you remember.”

Nan Wan let out a cold humph, said nothing more, and disappeared in a flash of light.

The Yun Xiao disciples then surrounded Bai Shuo and Hua Da Tie and politely escorted them back to the inn.

At the inn, Hua Da Tie wanted to follow Bai Shuo into the room, but Bai Shuo blocked her at the door with a snap.

She leaned against the door, holding her iron hammer, looking very much like her usual self as she squatted outside. She wiped her face of makeup and gave a side-eye, “Tsk, what a couple of ungrateful ancestors.”

As soon as Bai Shuo entered the room, Fan Yue transformed back into human form.

Bai Shuo quickly took his hands, inspecting him up and down, “Mumu, let Master see, where are you hurt?!”

Fan Yue shook his head and, without a word, took off his blood-soaked shirt.

“Master, this isn’t my blood.”

Bai Shuo was dumbfounded. “It’s not your blood? Then whose is it?”

“I was stopped by someone outside the inn just now.”

“What kind of person? Did they also have four claws and a big tail?”

Fan Yue shook his head. “No, it looked like a human. It was too dark to see their appearance clearly, but whatever stopped me didn’t seem conscious, and their spiritual energy wasn’t strong.”

“Then where is this ‘thing’ now?” Bai Shuo asked quickly.

“It’s gone.”

“Gone? You mean it ran away?”

Fan Yue pouted. “I was worried about you, so I might have used a bit too much force. It disappeared with one slap.”

No wonder Fan Yue was covered in blood—it had turned into a bloody mess from that slap?
