The Supreme Goddess Bai Shuo — Chapter 47. Part 3

Bai Shuo swallowed hard. If Fan Yue didn’t still look so innocent and compliant, she would’ve thought this powerful demon had already regained his memory and was just messing with her!

“Oh well, as long as you’re okay. This Evil City is really strange. Let’s just wait these two days, and once your master-uncle leaves safely, we’ll return to Nanhai City right away,” Bai Shuo mumbled, flopping onto the bed, closing her eyes drowsily. “I’m going to sleep now—I’m exhausted.”

“Master, sleep. I’ll watch over you.”

Fan Yue pulled up a small wooden stool and sat by Bai Shuo’s bedside.

“Good disciple…”

Bai Shuo had been up all night and was completely out of energy. Mumbling something, she drifted into a deep, restful sleep.

As for how Hua Da Tie managed to break the creature’s claw with a single blow, Bai Shuo couldn’t even be bothered to ask. Whether it was natural strength or sheer bravery, it didn’t matter. She barely had any money or valuable possessions to worry about. As for why these otherworldly beings were here and what they wanted, there was nothing she could do to stop them.

She didn’t act like an ordinary half-immortal and probably wasn’t fully one herself—perhaps a celestial or demon, but with kindness. As long as they weren’t after her life, the rest didn’t concern her.

Outside the room, Hua Da Tie listened closely to the master and disciple’s conversation. She lightly tapped her iron staff with her fingers, a distant look on her face.

In the stillness of the Evil King’s Palace, a figure suddenly appeared, moving confidently through the palace, as though familiar with every corner, heading straight for the deepest chamber.

Just as the figure stepped into the main hall, a blade flashed, forcing her back.

“Who goes there?!”

Wu Zhao stood, holding a long sword with an imposing aura. But when he saw who it was, he froze, sheathed his sword, and bowed respectfully, his usually stern face lighting up with surprise.

“Little Highness, it’s you?! You’ve returned!”

The figure replied coldly, “Uncle Wu Zhao, I told you when I left that Evil City has nothing to do with me anymore. There’s no need to address me as ‘Little Highness.’”

Wu Zhao’s expression dimmed. “Little Highness…”

“Why is there a demon in Evil City? Haven’t you noticed?”

“A demon?” Wu Zhao was taken aback. “Impossible. With the Spirit Lock Seal in place, there should be no demons in Evil City.”

The figure glanced at Wu Zhao with a frosty gaze and waved her hand, revealing a severed claw on the ground.

Wu Zhao’s face went pale as he avoided her gaze.

“I am no longer a person of Evil City. Whatever happens here has nothing to do with me. With both celestial and demon disciples gathered here, I have no idea why he agreed to hold the Wu Tong Martial Banquet here at Jin Yao’s request. No matter what you all are plotting, Evil City cannot withstand retaliation from both the celestial and demon realms. Be cautious!”

The figure said no more and turned to leave.

“Little Highness! Won’t you see His Majesty?”

The figure paused for a moment but didn’t look back, disappearing into the distance.

Wu Zhao picked up the severed claw, his expression shifting as he vanished from the palace gate.

Deep within the underground of the Evil King’s Palace, in a hall where the King of the Strange Ones sat silently, Wu Zhao appeared. As soon as he did, the king opened his eyes.

“What is it?”

“Your Majesty, the Little Highness has returned.”

The king paused, but he did not respond.

“The Little Highness found this.”

Wu Zhao raised the severed claw, and the king’s face changed, frowning deeply.

“Your Majesty, this move is too risky. Since the Little Highness has returned, perhaps we should…”

Wu Zhao began, but the king’s cold gaze silenced him.

“The Strange Ones have been abandoned by the Three Realms for a thousand years, Wu Zhao. This is our only chance… and it is Yung’er’s only chance as well.”

The king turned, looking at a figure sleeping in a blood pool not far away, and closed his eyes.

In the blood pool lay a creature with a human body and a snake’s tail, bearing four claws, one of which was missing a segment.

The sun was already high when Bai Shuo finally woke up, refreshed.

She was about to take Fan Yue downstairs to find something to eat, only to see Nan Wan waiting coldly at her door.
