When Fan Yue arrived at the Carefree Pavilion, Hua Hong was in the midst of kicking a bothersome fox out the front door. Turning around, she noticed Fan Yue standing under the tree.
The Lord of Hao Yue Hall wore a neutral expression, making it hard to tell his mood. Hua Hong looked around, noticing that the ill-fated half-immortal wasn’t present. She moved closer to Fan Yue.
“My Lord, did you leave her in Bu Ji City?”
Fan Yue glanced at her, and the blacksmith gave an awkward smile, quickly raising her hands as she mumbled, “I didn’t spy on your whereabouts. With the commotion at Bu Ji Tower, it was hard not to hear about it.”
Though Fan Yue was technically the master of Bu Ji City, it was Hua Hong who managed things from the shadows. The moment Fan Yue appeared at Bu Ji Tower, word reached her.
Fan Yue couldn’t be bothered to explain further and turned to enter the pavilion, but Hua Hong wasn’t ready to let it go, pestering him with gossip. “That place is ruthless and merciless. With her meager abilities, even the illusionary bloodthirsty butterflies in the city could swallow her whole. And you just left her there alone?”
After all, they’d been through a lot together in South Sea City, even if she was a troublemaker, so Hua Hong had some concern for that little half-immortal.
“I know Bai Shuo is quite the rascal—greedy, stingy, clinging to life and fearing death. But we, the mighty Hao Yue Hall, one of the Demon Realm’s major powers, with you, My Lord, commanding respect far and wide, surely have no need to hold grudges against a half-immortal. If word got out…”
“She’s at Purple Moon Lake.” Finally unable to bear Hua Hong’s chatter, Fan Yue stopped and coldly interrupted her.
“Ohhh…” The blacksmith drew out her response, clearly having received the answer she wanted. “No wonder you went to Bu Ji City. The aura of the demon gods at Purple Moon Lake can not only heal wounds but also help in cultivation and forming cores. I thought as much—she would’ve had to sustain some injuries to awaken a demigod.”
Fan Yue’s face remained expressionless, but Hua Hong’s curiosity was only fueled further. She leaned in closer, whispering, “You’ve been so good to her. Did that half-immortal shed tears of gratitude and, perhaps, offer herself…”
Before she could finish, a blood-red arrow suddenly shot across the sky with a thunderous explosion. Blinding beams of celestial power burst above the gates of Phoenix Island, causing the protective barrier to tremble.
Countless flashes of celestial and demonic light rose from the island, surging toward the explosion.
Hua Hong’s expression changed, staring at the arrow that turned into a stream of light, exclaiming in shock, “A Yun Huo Arrow?! Has Fu Ling lost her mind? She actually attacked celestials on Phoenix Island!”
Fan Yue looked toward the edge of Phoenix Island and replied coolly, “The Celestial Palace has arrived.”
Hua Hong paused, then realized, “Could it be those few individuals?”
When Fan Yue nodded, she shrugged, her expression relaxing. As long as it wasn’t an all-out war between the two factions, it didn’t directly involve Hao Yue Hall.
“Jin Yao is also on Phoenix Island. This should be quite a spectacle. My Lord, shall we go watch the fun…?”
Turning back, she realized that Fan Yue had already disappeared, the pavilion door shutting firmly behind him.
“No fun at all.”
Hua Hong rolled her eyes, but without missing a beat, flew directly toward the scene of the conflict.
At the gates of Phoenix Island, under towering ancient trees, Fu Ling stood with a stern expression, clutching her Yun Huo Bow with blood at the corner of her mouth as she stared coldly at the four figures before her.
The four Supreme Celestials—Yu Feng, Jing Lei, Yan Huo, and Feng Yu—looked troubled, holding their spiritual weapons uncertainly.
While they hesitated, several celestial and demon figures flashed by, and Jin Yao arrived at the gates, leading elders of the Phoenix Clan and heads of both factions.
The four celestials greeted Jin Yao with a bow, “Greetings, Celestial Lord.”
Jin Yao, however, looked directly at Fu Ling, shouting angrily, “Rebellious daughter, cease at once!”
