God, I’ve Heard My Fiancé and the Saint Committed Adultery? — Part 6

As we rode, Philip explained the stages of demonic possession.

  • The first stage involves the victim being unaware of the possession, with the demon merely moving objects around the room.
  • In the second stage, the demon starts creating disturbances, such as poltergeist activity, to make its presence known.
  • By the third stage, the demon has almost entirely taken over the victim’s body, leaving little trace of their original personality.
  • In the fourth stage, the demon causes death—either to those around the victim or to the victim themselves.
At the third stage, the only option is to delay the transition to the fourth stage through daily prayers. Otherwise, the victim might commit suicide or kill those around them.

Even high-ranking priests with "Petro" status cannot completely exorcise demons, often having no choice but to lead the victim to take their own life.

Only a Saint can completely banish a demon.

“Stay close to me at all times.”
“Yes, I understand.”

Upon arriving at the palace, we received the report:

A soldier had been possessed by a demon, killed several other soldiers, and was now heading toward the room where Lady Lena was staying. Edward and his men were attempting to hold him off.

Apparently, Lena was staying in the very room that should have been mine as Edward’s future bride.

Edward is truly insane.

As I processed this, Philip handed me a vial of holy water and a Bible, assuring me they would protect me from possession. Still, it was terrifying.

When we reached the scene—

A soldier, tightly bound with chains, growled in a low, guttural voice.

Blood was everywhere. Edward, receiving emergency treatment nearby, was severely injured. Beside him was Lena, clinging to him, crying uncontrollably.

The priests were pleading with Lena, “Please, Lady Saint, banish the demon!”

But Lena, trembling and sobbing, did nothing except cling to Edward.

Absolutely useless.

“We have no choice but to steel ourselves… Everyone, begin praying! The possession has already reached the fourth stage, as it has taken lives! Surround it!”

Philip, clearly thinking the same as I was, gave the order to the priests. Those near Lena, as well as those guarding the other soldiers, quickly surrounded the possessed soldier, opened their Bibles, and began praying.

Philip’s powerful voice joined the prayers, but the soldier—no, the demon—only laughed in a deep, guttural tone.

“Prayers are useless. Soon, this country will belong to us! Ha ha ha! All it took was a whisper to the Saint, and look what happened! How pathetically simple!”

A whisper? What does that mean?

“And not just the Saint, but I must thank the prince as well! His actions against the Saint have stripped her of her power, granting us demons total freedom to act!”

In that moment, the priests’ prayers stopped.

The demon had just revealed something crucial: the crown prince had defiled the Saint.
