A year after becoming engaged, Alice graduated from the academy and officially became Lidio’s wife.
Every day of their marriage was filled with love, expressed through words and actions. Alice felt completely surrounded by the happiness of being cherished.
“Are you planning to go out in that outfit?” Lidio asked, his tone laced with hesitation.
“Yes, is there something wrong with it?” Alice replied, slightly puzzled. She had chosen a clean, stylish dress to wear for lunch with friends, but Lidio seemed less than pleased.
“No… It’s nothing. You look beautiful. Have a wonderful time,” he said, his voice awkward as he avoided her gaze.
“If you think it’s unsuitable, please tell me. I don’t mind changing if it bothers you,” Alice said sincerely.
While she didn’t mind receiving critiques, she wanted to hear his honest thoughts. If his concern stemmed from love, she would happily accommodate.
“No, truly. You look stunning, so much so that I’m sure people will stop and stare at you. I just… don’t like the thought of others admiring you when I’m not there,” Lidio admitted.
“Oh…” Alice blushed deeply at his confession.
Lidio occasionally displayed jealousy, which only endeared him to her more.
“In that case, I’ll change. I’ll save this dress for when we go out together,” Alice offered.
“I’m sorry. I’m showing how narrow-minded I am again,” Lidio said, his voice heavy with regret.
“Not at all. It makes me happy to know you care for me so much. Please don’t feel bad,” Alice reassured him, giving him a light hug before heading to change her outfit.
During breakfast, Alice used her foresight ability while sitting across from Lidio.
“Lord Mortade, you mentioned meeting with Earl Mole to inform him of the decision to cut his funding. I think it would be better to send a representative instead. I’ve heard he’s been drinking heavily lately, and I worry he might harm you,” Alice said, her voice trembling slightly.
“You’re right. There’s no need for me to go personally. I’ll delegate the task,” Lidio agreed without hesitation.
“Thank you. I’m glad you understand,” Alice replied, relieved.
“And thank you for worrying about me,” Lidio said warmly.
The couple continued their breakfast, enjoying the tranquility of their shared life.
Lidio always took Alice’s words to heart with sincerity. When she saw that the grim future she had foreseen had changed, Alice felt a wave of relief.
(It looks like everything will be fine today.)
The alternate vision—where Earl Mole insulted Alice and was skewered by Lidio’s icy blades in a blind rage—had been successfully avoided.
As a wife, it was Alice’s role to support her husband. Without her guidance, Lidio seemed destined to tread toward crimson-stained futures filled with violence and despair. Her efforts ensured he could finish his days peacefully.
