When Arianju woke up after a deep sleep, she suddenly recalled memories of her past life, with no warning or premonition whatsoever.
She immediately took out a notebook from her desk and, with clumsy handwriting, began to jot down everything she could remember while it was still fresh.
In her previous life, she was destined to grow up to become one of seven villainous noblewomen. Specifically, she would become the least noticeable of the seven antagonists in an otome game where, 11 years later, the heroine would romance seven noble princes.
At that moment, one thought filled her small head:
“Being a villainous noblewoman is impossible!”
On the surface, Arianju was 100 times cuter than in her past life, so her looks weren’t an issue. However, her abilities were a thousand times worse.
Why? Because Arianju was a “sloth-type” noblewoman.
This world was inhabited by beastfolk and humans. Most individuals were hybrids, combining the beastfolk’s superior physical abilities with humans’ high magical power.
Though they appeared human, their traits often reflected the beast ancestor in their lineage. As hybrids became more common, even siblings born to the same parents often exhibited traits from entirely different beastfolk species.
In Arianju’s family, her eldest brother was a bear, her second brother was a tiger, and Arianju… was an unlucky sloth.
“Whoever came up with the settings for this otome game made a mistake,” thought Arianju.
How was a sloth, who slept 20 hours a day and moved at a snail’s pace, supposed to bully the heroine? A sexy panther or an adorable rabbit made sense, but what was a sloth supposed to do?
Her walking speed was less than a tenth of her brothers’, and she was frequently carried around like luggage by them.
At this rate, wouldn’t her bear and tiger brothers, carrying her while she slept, end up bullying the heroine instead? “Roar!” Yeah, right. Impossible! The premise was absurd.
After much deliberation, Arianju thought, “If I can’t manage being a villainous noblewoman in the future, maybe starting my villainy now will balance the scales.”
At five years old, her logic veered in a slightly odd direction.
“Villainy means doing bad things, gaining unjust profits, or deliberately breaking the rules, right? If I start accumulating small misdeeds now, it should add up!”
Though an adult in her past life, she was only five in this one.
“I’m a genius!” declared Arianju as she toddled off toward her villainous ambitions. Unfortunately, she was slow. Very slow. Being a sloth, her progress was minimal, and she soon flopped onto the floor, too tired to continue.
Her brother, passing by, scooped her up as usual and tucked her back into bed, where she fell into a peaceful sleep.
