Kaisas, now an expert at caring for Arianju, wiped her lips with a silk handkerchief after she finished eating fruit.
“It was delicious, Lord Kaisas,” Arianju said with a bright smile that melted Kaisas’ heart. He would have paid a gold coin for that fruit without hesitation. Thanks to Arianju’s notebook, the duke’s wealth had increased dramatically, to the point where both the duke and count’s households were now richer than the royal family.
Two years ago, the royal family had attempted to force princesses on Arianju’s overprotective brothers. In response, the brothers fled and became adventurers, happily engaging in battles and sending lively letters to Arianju every day. Their devotion to her remained as strong as ever.
“Shall we take a walk in the garden?” Kaisas asked, lifting Arianju in his arms and heading to the garden.
Arianju was now sixteen years old.
She still moved slowly and slept 20 hours a day.
Although she didn’t become engaged to any of the otome game’s capture targets, she had diligently continued her “Villain Savings Plan” for 11 years, saving countless lives from disasters and diseases.
“Arianju isn’t a villainous noblewoman; she’s an angel,” Kaisas said with a gentle smile. Even if it was biased, Arianju found the compliment heartwarming.
Meanwhile, the game’s overpowered heroine had appeared on schedule and was flirting with the prince characters, but that was no longer any concern of Arianju’s.
Still, Arianju couldn’t help but think the game creators had made a huge mistake casting her as a villainous noblewoman.
Why? Because before she could even reach the heroine, she would fall asleep due to her slow movements.
She was drowsy now, in fact.
But as she walked at her leisurely pace, she felt grateful for Kaisas, who matched her steps, walking slowly beside her. She wanted to walk with him a little longer.
The breeze carried the scent of flowers from the garden, gently tickling Arianju’s hair.
A tunnel of rose arches in dazzling colors stretched on endlessly, forming a corridor of blooms. The rosebeds, like a symphony of fragrance, released their sweet, musical aroma.
Roses of every hue—red, yellow, black, white, purple, pink, orange, and even green—blended together like the intricate pieces of a glass mosaic, creating a vivid tapestry of beauty. These resplendent roses bloomed in full glory.
This was the Rose Garden.
Like the thorny garden that protected Sleeping Beauty, this was a sanctuary Kaisas created for Arianju—a garden where pure, untouchable roses would bloom, breaking free of their sealed buds.
“I’m sleepy… Lord Kaisas,” Arianju murmured, stretching out her arms. Kaisas gently pulled her into his embrace.
“Goodnight,” he said softly.
Through her years of “Villain Savings,” Arianju had come to realize one thing:
Whether it was one of the otome game’s princely fiancés trying to meddle, a nobleman proclaiming himself her true soulmate, or an aristocrat scheming to kidnap her, every problem somehow resolved itself while she slept.
“This unwanted marriage proposal from the royal family will probably vanish by the time I wake up too,” she thought to herself.
And so, the slothful young lady, instead of becoming a villainous noblewoman, became a Sleeping Beauty. Guarded by her thorny prince, she drifted peacefully into slumber once again.
[The End]
