I Was Ignored by All My Classmates, So I Decided to Fully Embrace the Life of a Popular Kid — Part 7

During the next break, things took a turn for the better.

“I really love the ending of that song!”

“Oh, that part? We had some debates within the band about whether to end it with lingering guitar notes or go for a more explosive finish.”

“The current version is perfect! Though now I’m curious about the other version…”

To my relief, Adachi-san and I hit it off easily again.

Despite her appearance as a sweet and reserved girl, she turned out to be a huge rock music fan. She genuinely loved our music, even knowing obscure songs from our pre-fame days.

Our shared love of music kept the conversation lively, and we even started lending each other CDs from our favorite bands.

“Wait, your dad is that Shintaro Kawai, the famous music producer?”

“Yep. And my mom is Kyoko Midorikawa, a pianist. Have you heard of her?”

“Of course! She’s a world-renowned pianist! …Wait, doesn’t that make you, like, super rich?”

“Not really. My parents were so busy they sent me to live with my grandparents in Nagoya. That’s why I was based there for so long.”

“Oh, so that’s why you started in Nagoya. Makes sense.”

“Yeah. But since our song ‘Shake’ got so popular, we decided to move our activities to Tokyo. Now I technically live with my parents, though they’re hardly ever home.”

“Wow… and the other band members?”

“They’re busy with their own stuff… unlike me.”

“I see…”

Meanwhile, the classroom and even the hallway grew increasingly noisy, but I ignored it.

I could feel people glancing at me, but I was too focused on talking with Adachi-san.

Some of those stares—probably from her highness and her crew—felt sharper than the rest, but as long as they didn’t cause trouble, they were easy to ignore.

Over time, Adachi-san and I bonded more and more over music.

She truly loved music, and we never ran out of things to talk about, exchanging recommendations and sharing our thoughts on songs.

The other classmates continued to shoot curious glances my way, but none dared to approach, likely wary of Sonoyama and her clique. I didn’t care—it was far more rewarding to spend my time chatting with Adachi-san.

Being ignored by the entire school? Please. I was too busy enjoying a rosy school life with a beautiful, like-minded girl by my side.

“Hey, I heard you’re performing live on S Station next week!”

“Yeah. It’s been a while since our last live broadcast, so I’m a little nervous.”

“Wow, and A’z is going to be there too, right? I really wanted to go…”

“Yeah, you’re a big fan of theirs, right?”

“Uh-huh… I applied for audience tickets, but I didn’t get them…”

“Well, I can’t get you into the audience, but if you’d like, I could get A’z’s autographs for you.”

“What!? Really? Are you sure?”

“Yeah, no problem. I’m good friends with them, so getting their autographs is easy.”

“Seriously!? Thank you so much!”

“Your classmates are looking at you like they want to join your party!”
