I Was Ignored by All My Classmates, So I Decided to Fully Embrace the Life of a Popular Kid — Part 9

Realizing the shift, she’s likely trying to pull me into her circle to regain control. But seriously, "I’ll make you my aide"? Could she sound any dumber?

"You must be joking. What kind of nonsense is that to say to someone who already has a girlfriend, and right in front of her?"

"A… girlfriend?"

"Didn’t you notice? Adachi and I have been dating since last week."

At my words, the classroom erupted in murmurs.

People had likely noticed us calling each other by name or walking to and from school hand in hand, but this was the first time I had outright confirmed it.

I confessed to Adachi a week ago when she came over to my place. She said yes, and we officially became a couple. My first girlfriend—and a total beauty. Woohoo!

Until now, I planned to ignore Sonoyama and her clique unless they bothered me. But after a ridiculous statement like this, I wasn’t going to let it slide.

"You know what? If you get on your knees and beg, I might consider it."

"…What?"

Pointing at the floor with a grin, I continued,
"If you really want me, grovel right here. Of course, I have no intention of saying yes either way."

"You… you little…!"

She likely had never been spoken to this way in her life. Her face turned red as she opened and closed her mouth wordlessly.

And as expected, her lackeys were quick to chime in with outrage.

"Hey, you—"
"Don’t get cocky—"
"Oh, shut up, you kleptomaniac and sugar baby."

“Wha—?!”

Bullseye. Their reactions were so obvious.
The look on their faces screamed, "How does he know that?"

"My manager is excellent at what she does. The other band members are often targeted by stalkers and troublesome fans, so she’s used to dealing with situations like this. Background checks are second nature for her."

"Wha… what…?"

Now there were three of them gaping like fish out of water.

I turned my gaze toward the three guys behind them and smirked knowingly.
"I had her check on all of you as well. Turns out, none of you are exactly saints."

At this, the lackeys panicked and scrambled out of the classroom.
Sonoyama followed quickly after them.

The classroom was now filled with a different kind of murmur.
With this, her influence had dropped even further. Of course, I didn’t actually have concrete evidence—just a few hints.

Still, at this rate, the situation might resolve itself before they can retaliate.

Later that Day, After School
Walking home with Adachi-san, I brought up the topic of Sonoyama and her group.

"You know, for all their big talk, they haven’t really done anything drastic. I was expecting something worse—like violence or vandalism. So far, it’s just ignoring me and some badmouthing."

To prepare for the worst, I’d kept a voice recorder and a taser in my pocket at all times.
But so far, their behavior had been relatively mild. Perhaps they were hesitant to escalate because I’m a public figure.
