The Cloud Girl of the Twelfth Floor — Part 7

Fortunately, when he finally saw her again, he acted as if nothing had happened. She, too, breathed a sigh of relief and pretended it was nothing.

That night, the dorm girls had an incredible time, playing until it was almost curfew.

Lou Wan drove them back to campus, just in time before the gates were about to close.

After saying goodbye to Lou Wan, Yun Jia was about to head upstairs with her dormmates when he called out, “Wait, I need to ask you something.”

Wan Wan stuck out her tongue at Yun Jia mischievously, while the other girls giggled slyly. Like two thousand noisy ducks, they scattered in a rush, disappearing into the dorm building.

“Hey! Wait a second…” Yun Jia stomped her foot in frustration. Turning to Lou Wan, she said impatiently, “If you have something to say, hurry up. The lights are about to go out.”

Lou Wan, however, looked completely serious as he asked, “So… did I pass tonight?”

Yun Jia blinked in confusion. “Pass what?”

“Don’t all university dorms have that rule? If someone has a boyfriend, they have to treat everyone to dinner first, and only then they’re officially approved.”

“What?” Her face turned bright red, the flush spreading all the way to her neck. Embarrassed and furious, she snapped, “Who told you that?”

“Lao Ba said so! He said that’s the rule for all college girls…”

“Who’s Lao Ba?”

“Lao Ba is Lao Ba… Don’t worry about him.” Lou Wan brushed it off, then pressed her again. “So? Did I pass? I’ve been on edge the entire evening!”

Humiliated and enraged, she shouted, “Pass my foot! Who do you think you are? No, no, no! Definitely not!”

Lou Wan’s eyes sparkled with mischief. “If you keep being stubborn, I’m gonna yell, you know?”

“Yell what?” she asked warily.

To her horror, he leapt onto the flower bed, cupped his hands around his mouth like a megaphone, and bellowed at the dorm building, “Yun Jia! I love you! Yun Jia! I love you!”

His voice was loud and full of energy. Yun Jia was frantic. The entire dorm building erupted in chaos as windows flew open, and girls peeked out with curiosity. She tugged at him desperately. “Stop shouting! Stop shouting!”

But he ignored her completely, raising his voice even more. “Yun Jia! I love you!”

The commotion even reached the boys’ dormitory next door. Windows opened there, too, as some boys clapped, others whistled, and a few even cheered, “Way to go, bro!”

Looking utterly pleased with himself, Lou Wan bowed in mock gratitude to the crowd. He looked ready to shout again.

Yun Jia was livid. “What on earth do you want?”

Grinning shamelessly, he replied, “Say you love me, and I’ll stop yelling.”

She fell silent, glaring at him.

Seeing her hesitate, he inhaled deeply, preparing for another round of shouting. Panicked, Yun Jia grabbed his sleeve. “Lou Wan! If you keep this up, I’ll really get mad!”

“Alright then,” he said with a sly grin. “Let’s settle this with a bet. One round, high card or dice, you pick. Loser has to say ‘I love you.’ Deal?”

“No way!”

“Come on, just one round. What do you say?”

“No way!”

“I love you!”

“No way!”

“You don’t love me!”

“No way!”

…
