Cang Hai Plays with the Qilin — Chapter 27. Is Your Name Qilin? Part 2

More than Zhang Hai Xing’s sudden betrayal, he was shocked that “Wan Bao” could execute such an advanced Zhang clan technique.

The sheer force behind Zhang Hai Xing’s strike was greater than Wang Cang Hai had anticipated.

The true power of the black-gold blade wasn’t in its sharp edge—

It was in the devastating energy hidden within the technique itself.

The impact sent Wang Cang Hai flying off Qilin’s back.

He crashed to the ground.

Qilin immediately kicked Zhang Hai Xing in the chest—

The force of the blow sent Zhang Hai Xing tumbling twice before he landed.

Without wasting a second, Qilin turned back toward Wang Cang Hai,

Worried that he had been stabbed—

Worried that his broken leg had suffered further injury.

But before Qilin could even check on him,

Zhang Hai Xing—

With inhuman speed—

Lunged.

His hand latched onto Qilin’s arm—

And with terrifying strength, he yanked him backward—

Dragging half of Qilin’s body into the Bronze Gate.

Wang Cang Hai, still sprawled on the ground, struggled to push himself up.

His injured leg made it impossible to stand in time.

All he could do was reach out and shout—

“Let him go!”

Pouring every last drop of inner energy he had cultivated over fourteen years—

He extended his fingers into a sword strike—

And thrust it straight into Zhang Hai Xing’s chest.

There was no time to hesitate.

He could not allow Zhang Hai Xing to drag Qilin into the Bronze Gate alone.

In that moment, Wang Cang Hai didn’t care about consequences.

He struck to kill.

His invisible sword energy pierced through Zhang Hai Xing’s chest—

Straight into his heart and lungs.

Or at least—

That was what should have happened.

But what spilled out of Zhang Hai Xing’s open wound…

Was not human flesh.

There was no heart.

There were no lungs.

Only several grotesque, writhing, black-brown tendrils—

Squirming like the legs of a centipede.

As Zhang Hai Xing dragged Qilin into the Bronze Gate with overwhelming strength and speed, Qilin found himself completely overpowered—unable to resist at all.

His mind reeled.

No—this can’t be human strength.

Back when Zhang Hai Xing was fighting the Ren Mian Niao, he was already moving too quickly, too precisely—dodging fire and surviving the Golden Crow Demon-Slaying Formation as if he were untouchable.

That alone was already impossible luck.

But now, to be able to completely overpower both me and Wan Bao in an instant—rendering me unable to fight back at all—

Unless… Zhang Hai Xing isn’t human at all.

Unless he’s actually a monster in disguise.

Or worse… unless he is Zhang Qiling.

Outside the Bronze Gate, Wang Cang Hai watched as Qilin was pulled inside.

He saw Zhang Hai Xing flick his foot against the door—

And with a deep, resonating boom—

The Bronze Gate shut completely.

The remaining Zhang clan members, who had been following their clan leader, finally rushed forward—

No one spared a glance at “Wan Bao,” who had fallen to the ground.

All of them threw themselves at the Bronze Gate,

Pulling at it.

Prying at it.

But it was useless.

The gate would not open.
