Cang Hai Plays with the Qilin — Chapter 31. Getting Dressed Is Such a Hassle. Part 3

As Qilin continued his daydream, Wang Cang Hai had already finished dressing in a frost-white robe.

He picked up a wooden comb and began brushing his long, damp hair.

Catching a glimpse of Qilin’s bare back, he lightly cleared his throat and said, “Qilin, you can turn around now.”

Qilin turned just in time to see Wang Cang Hai sideways, combing his hair.

His long, jet-black locks cascaded down, water droplets sliding from the tips and onto his slender, jade-like fingers.

For a brief moment, Qilin froze, his body growing warm all over.

Suddenly, he didn’t dare stand up.

This is so strange.

Lord Xiao Wang is clearly fully dressed now, so why does he look… even more… alluring than he did while bathing?

Noticing Qilin’s embarrassment, Wang Cang Hai took two steps aside and turned his face away.

"I won’t look at you," he said casually. "Dry yourself off before getting dressed."

Qilin, still blushing, reluctantly climbed out of the water. He quickly dried himself, then hurriedly threw on the navy-blue robe.

Surprisingly, the size was a perfect fit.

But…

Why does Great Yong’s clothing have so many strings and buttons?

One layer after another—this is way too complicated!

Having finished brushing his hair, Wang Cang Hai reached for his osmanthus-jasmine hair oil.

Earlier, he had dismissed the attendants, leaving himself no choice but to apply it alone.

But with his hair being so long, it was difficult to apply the oil evenly by himself.

Glancing sideways, Wang Cang Hai noticed that Qilin was struggling with his clothing ties.

Letting out a barely audible sigh, he muttered, “Idiot.”

Setting down the comb and oil, he walked over.

Qilin, seeing him approach, thought, Lord Xiao Wang is such a kind person—he gave me red bean cakes and now he’s even helping me tie my clothes.

But to his utter shock, Wang Cang Hai suddenly untied his outer robe’s sash, tossing it aside, then smoothly stripped off his outer layer entirely.

Qilin’s hand shot out, grabbing Wang Cang Hai’s wrist.

But his words weren’t as quick as his reaction. “L-L-Lord Xiao Wang! W-W-What are you doing?!”

Wang Cang Hai’s tone remained as calm and unshaken as ever. “Your clothes are on backward.”

Qilin blinked. “…Huh?”

Wang Cang Hai continued, “In Great Yong, robes are always worn with the right flap over the left. You’ve tied yours the opposite way.”

“If you wear it left over right, it marks you as an outsider—a foreigner.”

Qilin immediately let go, no longer daring to resist.

That makes sense…

In Dong Xia, I’ve always worn my robes left over right.

But after living in Great Yong for so long, I never even noticed that everyone else’s collars are the other way around.

What should I do now?

Has Lord Xiao Wang already figured out that I’m a foreigner?

Is he going to have me thrown into a Great Yong prison?

Without pausing, Wang Cang Hai freed his hands and continued removing Qilin’s robes with swift, practiced movements.

Piece by piece, he peeled away the layers—until his fingers reached Qilin’s inner garments.

“L-L-Lord Xiao Wang!” Qilin yelped. “Let me do it myself!”

Wang Cang Hai, who had been focused on undressing him, finally lifted his gaze slightly—and shot him a mocking glance.

It was an expression that seemed to say, "You? Dress yourself properly? With your level of intelligence?"

Qilin, stammering, insisted, “L-L-Lord Xiao Wang, please let me do it myself…”

Wang Cang Hai thought, You were much more obedient when you were asleep. Back then, I could look all I wanted and even touch you. But now that you're awake, you've become all fussy.

Feeling slightly irritated, Wang Cang Hai suddenly pressed his hands onto Qilin’s shoulders, pinning him against the rocky edge of the bath.

His gaze was piercing as he questioned, “You—suspicious identity, questionable actions. First, you snuck into the Silver Armor Army under the chaos of the Corpse Mites. Then, you trespassed into my bathhouse. Tell me—what exactly is your intent?”
